Michael F. Bigham

Mr. Bigham joined Abingworth Management Limited in December 2002. From December 2002 to March 2004, he served as vice chairman of Corixa Corporation and was president and chief executive of Coulter Pharmaceuticals from July 1996 until it merged into Corixa in December 2000. Previously, he was an early employee at Gilead Sciences where he spent eight years serving in various capacities, including executive vice president of operations and CFO. Before joining Gilead, Mr. Bigham was a partner at Hambrecht & Quist where he became co-head of Healthcare Investment Banking. He has a B.S. degree with distinction from the University of Virginia and qualified as a CPA before completing his M.B.A. at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.


Kate Bingham
Managing Partner, SV Life Sciences

Ms. Bingham is a managing partner with SV Life Sciences. Since joining SV Life Sciences in 1991, Ms. Bingham has served on the boards of Affibody, Essential Therapeutics, Hexagen, Ingenium, LeukoSite, Lorantis, MedNova, Metris, Nexan and the UK Bio Industry Association, and has also been responsible for investments in Auxilium, Genosis, Gyros, Kinetix, KuDOS, Micromet and Therascope. Prior to joining SV Life Sciences, Ms. Bingham worked in business development for Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and at Monitor Company. Ms. Bingham has a degree in biochemistry from Oxford University and graduated from Harvard Business School with an M.B.A. (Baker Scholar).


Lee R. Brettman, M.D., FACP
President, Chief Executive Officer and Director

Dr. Brettman is co-founder, president and chief executive officer of Dynogen. Prior to Dynogen, Dr. Brettman was an entrepreneur in residence at Oxford Bioscience Partners. Prior to his tenure at Oxford, he was chief medical officer and senior vice president of medical and regulatory affairs at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc.. Dr. Brettman performed the same role at LeukoSite Inc. before the company merged with Millennium. Prior to joining LeukoSite, Dr. Brettman served as senior director, clinical research at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, director of anti-infectives research at the Schering Plough Research Institute and associate director of the anti-infectives group at the Robert Wood Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute. Throughout his career, Dr. Brettman has played a major role in the successful development leading to commercialization of a number of small molecules and biologics.

Dr. Brettman received dual bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Russian Literature from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his M.D. from the Baylor College of Medicine. He did his training in Internal Medicine at University Hospitals of the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and his fellowship in Infectious Diseases and Immunology at Bellevue Hospital and the New York University Medical School. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Disease Society of America.


Augustine Lawlor
Managing Partner, HealthCare Ventures, LLC

Mr. Lawlor has 15 years operating experience in biotechnology industry in finance, business development, mergers and acquisitions and general management. Before joining HealthCare Ventures he was chief operating officer of LeukoSite, Inc. Before joining LeukoSite, Mr. Lawlor was chief financial officer and vice president of corporate development for Alpha-Beta Technology. He was previously chief financial officer and vice president of business development of BioSurface Technology.

Mr. Lawlor is a member of the board of directors of the Slater Center in Providence, Rhode Island. He received a master’s degree in management from Yale University.
